Update: GoPro Hero 2 HD Camera Wi-Fi BacPac iPhone App

Here's an update on my last post regarding the newly released GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac iPhone app.

Screen after iPhone and Camera connected
I managed to make it work, partly, that is. I tried the same procedures while away from other Wi-Fi networks and my iPhone 4 managed to connect with the GoPro Hero2 camera via Wi-Fi.

But once I tap on the Connect Control button, I get the GoPro App Set Up prompt.

So bottomline, it's still not working. I then looked for comments and reviews in the App Store and realized that my iPhone has IOS 6 and the app does not have full functionality on IOS 6.

So I'm guessing I will have to wait for the next release. I'll keep trying to make this work even with limited functionality.

Calling Woodman Labs, Inc., please hurry. If you can get this to work together with the multi-camera functionality, I might consider buying more cameras.

GoPro Hero 2 HD Camera Wi-Fi BacPac iPhone App

Welcome Screen
I have just downloaded the recently released GoPro iPhone App that works with the GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac. I followed the instructions but as of this point, I have yet to make it work.

Step 1: Your GoPro Hero 2 HD Camera needs to have the latest software update. Note that this app (and new software release) will only work with the GoPro Hero 2 and not the first generation GoPro Hero camera. To download and install the latest software, you need to have the GoPro CineForm Studio program running in your computer (Mac or PC).

Step 2: You Wi-Fi BacPac and Remote will also need the latest software update.

Step 3: With your GoPro Hero 2 camera and Wi-Fi BackPack and Remote updated with the latest software, you can download the GoPro iPhone App.

Primary Screen: Scanning for Camera

Step 4: Before launching the app on your iPhone/iPad, and before you disconnect, make sure that you have setup your Wi-Fi BacPac with the password that you want.

Step 5: On your iPhone/iPad, under Settings, Wi-Fi, search for the GoPro camera from the list of WiFi networks (with the GoPro name that you set-up). Login with the password that you created.

Step 6: In your camera's Wi-Fi menu, set the Wi-Fi mode to Phone and Tablet.

Step 7: Launch the app on your iPhone/iPad and let it search for the Wi-Fi GoPro Hero 2 HD camera.

Step 8: I am stuck in this step and still figuring out how I can make the app find my GoPro Hero 2 HD camera.. I'll post an update once I get this to work.

Have fun!

Lunch at Balboa Teriyaki Restaurant

Today's lunch was at Balboa Teriyaki Japanese Restaurant:

Bento Box with Saba Shioyaki and Tempura plus Lambada Roll (Tuna and Salmon with avocado)

The Saba Shioyaki was a little salty but nonetheless, tasted great! As for the Lambada Roll and the California Maki (included in the Bento), I think the avocado needs to be more fresh. It tasted a bit too ripe for my taste. The tuna and the salmon in the roll were average.

I think they need to improve on the freshness of the ingredients. But overall, I'd give them 3 stars. The price was not too bad, average, I would say.

Photos were taken using my iPhone 4 using PicSets App to create the collage.

Lunch at Tortilla House Taqueria

I was craving for authentic mexican food so I searched and found this on Yelp. I was disappointed to find that it is another mexican fast food.

I tried the Super Burrito with fish anyway and I was pleasantly surprised.

California Scenes: Palace of Fine Arts

If you're visiting San Francisco, perhaps after seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, you should stop by the Palace of Fine Arts at 3601 Lyon St., San Francisco, California.

The Rotunda
It is a historic landmark in the Marina District said to have been originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. It was one of the ten palaces created for the exposition and was only intended to last for that duration.

While most of the other palaces were demolished after the exposition, because it has captured the hearts of people, they  decided to keep the Palace of Fine Arts. And in 1965, a complete reconstruction was done including a seismic retrofit which was completed in 2009.

Today it remains a favorite among tourists and locals. It has been used countless times as venue and backdrop for weddings and special events, even movies and TV shows.

The serene nature of this park makes it an ideal place to relax and stroll around the garden and  man-made lagoon where many different birds, including migratory birds and a pair of swan, are seen swimming.

California Scenes: The Golden Gate Bridge

I just realized that I haven't posted anything about this most famous bridge in San Francisco, The Golden Gate Bridge. I tried to find a photo that I have on my iPhone but somehow all the ones that I have does not do justice to the beauty of this bridge.

It's a magnificent sight from every angle, though I have yet to view it from all possible angles.

This year, this magnificent landmark will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary. Who would have thought that this magnificent structure is that old. And yet it never fails to leave anyone seeing it the first time in awe and amazement.

The Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary Celebration will be held in many different parts of the city even before the day itself. But primarily, the culmination and the major events will be held on the 27th of May, 2012. From the Marina Green to Crissy Field, to the Bridge and across the bay in Sausalito, celebrations will be held during the entire Memorial Day Weekend. Musical Concerts and shows, all sorts of food and lots of fun are promised by the organizers.

It makes me feel to blessed to be here in Northern California to witness this event. Check out their Schedule of Events and other information at http://www.goldengatebridge75.org/

California Scenes: Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill

Christopher Columbus Statue
with Coit Tower on the background
Coit Tower is a 210-foot (64 m) structure that was built in 1933 in the Telegraph Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California. It was built at the request of Lilly Hitchcock Coit using the money that was part of her estate which she donated to help beautify the city.

This art-deco tower that was built and named after Coit has the best views of San Francisco. On a clear day, you can see the entire city and the two bridges: The Bay Bridge and The Golden Gate Bridge.

Spring Time: Around the Office Today

We're springing forward to Spring tomorrow night, clocks will be adjusted one hour forward again. That means an hour less sleep or an hour less to watch tv on Saturday night.. But that's okay, it will be warmer soon and flowers and trees will all be blooming.

Spring has definitely arrived. Though these pictures show the trees almost looking like they have snow, those are actually flowers.
I think they did a good work selecting these trees. They look this beautiful during spring and even more beautiful and colorful during fall.

Spring is probably my most favorite season.
